Rear Seat Belt Replacement

NOTE: Check the second row seat belts for damage, and replace them if necessary. Be careful not to damage them during removal and installation.

Rear Seat Belt


1.Remove the trunk side trim panel.

2.Remove the lower anchor bolt (A).

 

3.Remove the upper anchor cap (A), and remove the upper anchor bolt (B).

 

4.Remove the rear pillar trim.

5.Remove the retractor mounting bolt (A) and retractor bolt (B), then remove the rear seat belt (C) and retractor (D).

 

6.Install the rear seat belt and retractor in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

  • Check that the retractor locking mechanism functions.
  • Assemble the washers, collars, and bushing on the upper anchor bolt as shown.
  • Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to the anchor bolts before reinstallation.
  • Before installing the anchor bolts, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the rear seat belt.

Upper anchor bolt installation 

Center Seat Belt


1.Lift the seat cushion up.

2.Release the fasteners (A), then pull back the right seat-back cover (B). Pass the rear seat belt buckle (C) through the hole in the seat-back cover.

 

3.Remove the center anchor bolt (A).

 

4.Remove the right rear seat.

5.Remove the right rear seat-back.

6.Separate the seat-back frame and seat-back cover/pad.

7.Remove the screws, then remove the bracket E (A).

 


8.Remove the retractor mounting bolt (A) and the retractor bolt (B), then remove the center seat belt (C) and retractor (D) from the right seat-back frame (E) while releasing the hooks (F) of the protector (G).

 

9.Remove the screw, then remove the protector (A).

 

10.Install the seat belt and buckles in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

Right Seat Belt Buckle


1.Fold the right seat-back forward.

2.Release the fasteners, then pull back the edge of the rear floor mat.

3.Disconnect the seat belt switch connector (A).

 

4.Secure the right rear seat-back on the striker, and lift the right seat cushion up.

5.Release the fasteners (A), then pull back the right seat-back cover (B). Pass the rear seat buckle (C) through the hole in the seat-back cover.

 

6.Remove the center anchor bolt (A), then remove the right rear seat belt buckle (B).

 

7.Install the buckle in the reverse order of removal, and note these items.

  • Make sure the seat belt switch connector is plugged in properly.
  • Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to the upper anchor bolt before reinstallation.

Rear Center Seat Belt Buckle/Left Rear Seat Belt Buckle


1.Fold the right seat-back forward.

2.Release the fasteners, then pull back the edge of the rear floor mat.

3.Disconnect the seat belt switch connector (A), and detach the harness clip (B).

 

4.Secure the right rear seat-back on the striker, and lift the right seat cushion up.

5.Release the fasteners (A), then pull back the left seat-back cover (B). Pass the rear seat belt buckles (C) through the hole in the seat-back cover.

 

6.Remove the center seat belt buckle tension spring bolt (A).

 

7.Remove the center anchor bolts (A), then remove the rear center seat belt buckle (B)/left rear seat belt buckle (C).

 

8.Install the buckles in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

  • Make sure the seat belt switch connector is plugged in properly.
  • Assemble the washers and collar on the center anchor bolt and tension spring bolt as shown.
  • Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to the center anchor bolt and the tension spring bolt before reinstallation.
