DTC P0087: | Fuel Rail Pressure Too Low |
1. | Before attempting this troubleshooting. Check whether DTC could have been caused by insufficient fuel level. Was fuel insufficient? YES - Supply fuel, and do the fuel system air bleeding, then go to 12. NO - Go to 2. |
2. | Check the ECT in the recorded freeze data. Could fuel have frozen due to extremely low temperature? YES - Check and repair the freezing point in the low pressure fuel line, then go to 12. NO - Go to 3. |
3. | Check for fuel leaks in the high pressure fuel line (at the injector, fuel pipe, etc.). Is there any leak? YES - Repair the fuel leak in the high pressure fuel line, then go to 12. NO - Go to 4. |
4. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
5. | Disconnect the low pressure fuel feed hose (A) from the fuel supply pump (B), and receive fuel in a container.
|
6. | Squeeze the fuel hand primer (A) and operate it 30 times.
Does fuel flow out? YES - Go to 7. NO - Replace the fuel filter, then go to 12. |
7. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
8. | Clear the DTC with the HDS. |
9. | Do the FUEL RAIL PRESSURE TEST in the INSPECTION MENU with the HDS. Is the result OK? YES - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time.n NO - Go to 10. |
10. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
11. | Replace the fuel supply pump assembly. |
12. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
13. | Reset the ECM with the HDS. |
14. | Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 2,000 rpm (min-1) without load (in neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle. |
15. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES - If DTC P0087 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the FRP sensor and the ECM, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. NO - Troubleshooting is complete.n |
