Used engine oil may cause skin cancer if repeatedly left in contact with the skin for prolonged periods. Although this is unlikely unless you handle used oil on a daily basis, it is still advisable to thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water as soon as possible after handling used oil. |
Lubrication Points | Lubricant | |
---|---|---|
A | Engine(european model) | Always use genuine Honda Oil, ACEA A1/B1 or ACEA A3/B3 ACEA/SAE viscosity: See chart. |
Engine(except european model) | Always use API service grade SL or higher SAE viscosity: See chart. | |
B | Manual transmission | Honda Manual Transmission Fluid (MTF) Always use Honda MTF*1. Using motor oil can cause stiffer shifting because it does not contain the proper additives. |
C | Brake system (including ABS/VSA line) | Genuine Honda Brake Fluid DOT 3 or DOT 4*2 We recommend genuine Honda Brake Fluid. Using a non-Honda brake fluid can cause corrosion and decrease the life of the system. |
D | Clutch line | Genuine Honda Brake Fluid DOT 3 or DOT 4*2 |
E F G H I J K L | Release fork Battery terminals Brake booster clevis Clutch master cyrinder clevis Shift lever Fuel fill door Hood hinges and hood latch Tailgate hinges and tailgate latch | Multipurpose Grease |
M N | Brake caliper piston seals Shift cable ends | Silicone Grease |
O | Brake caliper piston boots, piston pins and boots | Rubber Grease |
P | Air conditioning compressor | Compressor oil: SANDEN SP-10 (P/N 38897-P13-003, 38898-P13-003 or 38899-P13-A01) For refrigerant HFC-134a (R-134a) |
*1: | If genuine Honda MTF is not available, use API service SL or higher grade motor oil with a viscosity of SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 as a temporary replacement. |
*2: | We recommend Genuine Honda Brake Fluid. Using a non-Honda brake fluid can cause corrosion and decrease the life of the system. |
