Used engine oil may cause skin cancer if repeatedly left in contact with the skin for prolonged periods. Although this is unlikely unless you handle used oil on a daily basis, it is still advisable to thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water as soon as possible after handling used oil. |
Lubrication Points | Lubricant | |
---|---|---|
A | Engine | Always use synthetic genuine Honda Motor Oil (Highly recommended), synthetic 0W-30 motor oil ACEA A1/B1 (Highly recommended), or synthetic motor oil ACEA A3/B3. ACEA viscosity: See chart. |
B | Manual transmission | Honda Manual Transmission Fluid (MTF) Always use genuine Honda MTF*. Using motor oil can cause stiffer shifting because it does not contain the proper additives. |
C | Brake system (including VSA line) | Brake Fluid DOT 3 or DOT 4 We recommend genuine Honda Brake Fluid. Using a non-Honda brake fluid can cause corrosion and decrease the life of the system. |
D | Clutch line | Brake Fluid DOT 3 or DOT 4 We recommend genuine Honda Brake Fluid. |
E F G H I J K L | Release fork Battery terminals Brake booster clevis Clutch master cylinder clevis Shift lever Fuel fill door Hood hinges and hood latch Tailgate hinges and tailgate latch | Multipurpose Grease |
M | Brake caliper piston seals | Rubber Grease |
N O | Brake caliper piston boots, piston pins and boots Shift cable ends | Silicone Grease |
P | Air conditioning compressor | Compressor oil: DENSO ND-OIL8 (P/N 38897-PR7-003, 38898-PR7-003, or 38899-PR7-A01) For refrigerant HFC-134a (R-134a) |
If genuine Honda MTF is not available, use API service SL or higher grade motor oil with a viscosity of SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 as a temporary replacement. |
