Belt tension gauge ( 07JGG-0010101)
1. | Remove the engine undercover |
2. | Inspect the belt for cracks and damage. If the belt is cracked or damaged, replace it. |
3. | Turn the crankshaft pulley one turn or more. Attach the belt tension gauge to the belt and measure the tension. Follow the gauge manufacturer's instructions. If the belt needs adjustment, go to 5.
With A/C Without A/C |
4. | Turn the crankshaft pulley one turn or more. Apply a force of 98 N (10 kgf, 22 lbf), and measure the deflection at the mid point (A) between A/C compressor (alternator for without A/C) and crankshaft pulley. If the belt needs adjustment, go to 5.
With A/C Without A/C |
5. | Loosen the lock bolt (A) and mounting bolt (B).
|
6. | Turn the adjusting bolt (C) to obtain the proper belt tension, then retighten the lock bolt and mounting bolt specified torque. |
7. | Recheck the belt tension. |
