Cylinder Head Cover Installation

1.Thoroughly clean the head cover gaskets and grooves.

2.Install the new head cover gaskets (A) in the grooves of the cylinder head cover (B).

 

3.Check that the mating surfaces are clean and dry.

4.Apply liquid gasket, P/N 08C70-K0234M or 08C70- K0334M, on the chain case mating areas.

NOTE: Do not install components if 5 minutes or more have passed after applying the liquid gasket. Instead, remove the old residue and reapply the liquid gasket.

 

5.Place the cylinder head cover (A) on the cylinder head, then slide the cover slightly back and forth to seat the head cover gaskets.

 

6.Inspect the cover washers (B). Replace any washer that is damaged or deteriorated.

7.Tighten the nuts in two or three steps. In the final step, tighten all the nuts, in sequence, to 12 N·m ( 1.2 kgf·m, 8.7 lbf·ft).

NOTE:
  • Wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with oil.
  • Do not run the engine for at least 3 hours after installing the head cover.

 

8.Install the breather hose (A), then install two bolts (B) securing the vacuum line.

 

9.Install the bolt (A) securing the fuel feed line, and install two bolts (B) securing the fuel return line.

 

10.Install the turbocharger boost control solenoid (A), and install the two bolts (B) securing the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) control solenoid bracket.

 

11.Install the four injectors.

12.Install the engine cover.

 

13.Install the air cleaner housing assembly.
